Scilla and Chianalea

2 Spiaggia Marina Grande

The tale of Scylla lives on in mythological legend. Homer narrated the passage of Ulysses’ ship between monstrous Scylla and voracious Charybdis.

Scilla, pearl of the Mediterranean, is a seaside resort which extends along the coast of Calabria, between the Tyrrhenian Sea and the slopes of Aspromonte. Chianalea, a fishing village, is the quaint section of the town where homes are bathed by the sea. Divided by the castle of the Ruffo di Calabria, the two areas create a unique and unforgettable sight.
